Track-Day Checklist

Bring physical copies — cell service at the track is unreliable. Digital copies as backup.

Check your series rules. SCCA and FARA require active transponders for timed sessions.

Leave a copy with a teammate in case of incident.

Print it. Gate staff won't always have WiFi to verify digital.

Check the sticker inside — most series require SA, not M-rated. Verify expiration date.

Required for most NASA and SCCA classes. Strongly recommended for all.

Check your series minimum. Single-layer suits offer minimal protection — many events require 2-layer.

Leather boots are often an accepted alternative for open lapping.

Some series require it to be reachable without removing harness. Check rules.

SFI/FIA harnesses expire. Most sanctioning bodies reject belts older than 5 years.

Many tracks prohibit coolant with glycol — check the event rules. Water-only is safest.

Track temps in South Florida can be high — verify hot pressures with your tire manufacturer.

Always re-torque after the first session on track.

Required at most track events to prevent glass on course in case of impact.

Check your series rules. Some events prohibit aftermarket mirrors.

Homestead-Miami Speedway prohibits glycol-based coolants on the racing surface.

Required for most wheel-to-wheel classes; recommended for HPDE.

Floor mats, phone mounts, and anything in the door pockets become projectiles.

Highly recommended. Homestead Tire Pros is 0.8 miles from Gate 18 but wait times spike on event weekends.

The essential race-day repair kit. AutoZone is 0.7 miles from Gate 18.

Digital or analog — bring your own. Track-side ones are often inaccurate.

Useful for checking tire temps and brake temps after sessions.

South Florida sun is intense year-round. Shade is not optional — it's survival.

Dehydration is a real risk. Publix is 1.2 miles from Gate 18 for restocking.

CVS is 1.0 mile from Gate 18. Don't skip this.

Required in the pit lane during active sessions at most events.

Publix is closest for ice. Restock daily if needed.

If your paddock space has power access. 50-100ft cord recommended.

Home Depot at 4.7 miles has rental generators. Check event noise rules.

Leave your paddock spot as clean as you found it.
